Tonakeera Point, 27 December 2008

On Saturday Marian and I had a nice walk in the mid-winter sunshine along a picturesque section of the Mayo coastline. We started at White Strand and walked to Silver Strand via Tonakeera Point.

Winter Solstice Swim, 21 December 2008

I have a goal of swimming every month of the year, so on Saturday morning decided that it was a good chance to get the December swim out of the way. It was sunny but the wintery sunshine didnt have much warmth in it and the water was painfully cold. There were a few other regulars also going for a dip at Blackrock. A knowledgable-looking bloke reckoned the water temperature was 6 degrees Centigrade. I didn't doubt his assessment.

Cong, 2 November 2008

On Sunday 2 November we decided to drive to Cong for a walk and take in the Autumn colours. With winter rapidly approaching the leaves were not to last much longer. Here are some pics: If you want to you can compare these photos with those taken in June of this year.
